NAC Sports Update from AD Sandra Knight 8/20/20
Hello FHS Skipper Fans, I am posting the NAC Spectator Guidelines for the 2020 Fall Season. Please read them over. There is good news and bad news. We are allowing spectators --good news! We are limiting spectators --bad news!! These guidelines were adopted by all principals today. These guidelines limit each participant to 2 tickets.
Every student will receive two passes which will allow the parents/family members to purchase tickets at the gate. The tickets can be purchased for one game only based on indoor seating capacity of 60 people (15% of our max capacity) and based on what team your student-athlete will play on - so for example: one JV game or one Varsity game. Tickets will be $3 for each JV and Varsity contest. No charge for Home MS Games. Away games - The league varies on this. Some schools are charging $6 adults and some are charging $4 students. Some are not charging at all. There will be no concessions indoors. Middle school games in the NAC cost $4 and $2. Again, we do not charge at FHS for Middle School contests.
For Football/Cheer/Band/Auxiliary Games:
Every student will receive two passes which will allow the parents/family members to purchase tickets at the gate. The tickets can be purchased for Friday night only based on seating capacity and based on what team your student-athlete plays on. Band, Cheer and Auxiliary Members will also receive two passes per participant. The student will have to bring those passes home to the parents so they can get into the game. Tickets will be $6 for adults and $4 for students to attend on Friday night. There is no charge for JV Football games or MS Football games. JV Football and MS Football players will also receive 2 passes for each participant prior to their home and away games as well. Passes entitle you to purchase a ticket. They can't and shouldn't be sold. There will be concessions available.
Bad News: Bands will not be able to travel to away games.
Good News: We are working on plans to have a pep rally for Thursday evenings starting at Greig Field probably around 7:30. The band and auxiliary can perform and parents are able to attend. This is because we love our band and certainly want them to feel special. It does really stink that the students will lose out on going to the away games. This was in the governor's order and outside of our control.
Please try to keep all comments positive on this page and please reach out to me individually with questions and concerns. Our students are watching us and how we respond to difficult directions and challenging times. We all want to be at the game but limiting attendance will be the best option we can have right now. It is definitely better than having zero spectators.
