# 3 COVID Repsonse--NUTRITION SERVICES CONTINUE! Posted 3/13/20

***PLEASE SEE #11 COVID-19 ON THE WEBSITE FOR UPDATED NUTRITION SERVICES INFORMATION POSTED 3/30/20***

Updated Info as of 3/30/2020-We realize that many of our students rely on breakfast and lunch that they receive each day at school. We have updated our nutrition plan for the remainder of the mandatory school closure that ensures that students who need these meals will be able to get them.

We are following guidance from the health department to limit exposure and maintain social distancing. Staff will pass out meals at the Harding Jr/High School, Vine Street entrance near the Fairport Library. A Riverside/Fairport staff member will come to your car to get your student's names and then bring the meals to you. Students do not need to be present, and we would prefer only one person per family to come to pick the meals up. The meal pick-up plan is to protect both staff and families.  The school district will provide meal pick-ups on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the duration of the state-mandated school closure.

We realize that many of our students rely on breakfast and lunch that they receive each day at school. We have formulated a plan for the 3 weeks that the schools are on mandatory closure that ensures that students who need these meals will be able to get them.

Meals will be handed out at Harding Jr/Sr High School Student ENTRANCE NEAR LIBRARY for the all 3 weeks of school closure (including the week of spring break).

  1. Staff will be there on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11-1 11:00 to 12:00 to hand out packaged meals for 3 days at a time.

  2. These meals will include breakfast and lunch meals and will be all cold items.

  3. Students/parents will have to provide the name of the student (s) that the meals are for so we can accurately account for the meals that are going out.

  4. A Riverside/Fairport staff member will come to your car to get your student's names and then bring the meals to you. Students do not need to be present, and we would prefer only one person per family to come to pick the meals up.  Nobody will be permitted to go past the table where the meals are being distributed, for any reason, nor can students stay and eat in the building. Students/parents are to receive their meals and exit the building.
  5. Please understand that options will be limited during this time, and we cannot take special requests. The meals that are packaged for that day are the only options that will be available.

We know that you still have many concerns during this unusual situation, but we hope that we have alleviated a little worry for you. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me directly.

Sincerely,

Michelle Gifford
Director of Nutrition Services
Riverside Local Schools and Fairport Harbor Schools
