Susan Tenon is going global! 8/10/21

Harding High School English teacher, Susan Tenon, was selected to participate in the NEA Foundation's Global Learning Fellowship, a year-long professional learning experience focused on educating and empowering students for global citizenship. As one of 42 fellows, she is representing the state of Ohio and will enhance her knowledge and skills to integrate global competency into her daily classroom instruction, advocate for global competency at Harding and the FHEVS district, and help students thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

The fellows immerse themselves in online coursework, webinars, reading and reflection as well as a two-day professional development workshop this fall and a nine-day international field study to South Africa next summer.

In South Africa, they will investigate the historical and cultural context of the country and learn about its education system through meetings with policymakers, business and nonprofit leaders as well as visits to schools to meet teachers, students and administrators.

The fellows will conclude their fellowship with a project that enables their learning to be shared more broadly with educators beyond the program.
