School Staff Vaccination Information (Remote Day 2/25/21)

Dear Fairport Schools Community,
I am pleased to announce that Fairport Schools employees will be provided their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination on February 25th. The Lake County Health Department has assigned the date of the vaccine. It appears that in excess of 90% of our employees have signed up to be vaccinated.
Fairport Harbor Schools will revert to remote instruction on Thursday, February 25, 2021, in order to accommodate the vaccination schedule. This group of eligible employees includes; teachers, student teachers, certified support
staff, custodians, paraprofessionals, secretaries, maintenance personnel, food service workers, coaches, administrators, and Board members.
We understand this change will result in yet another disruption for families; please bear with us so that all of our staff members who choose to vaccinate against COVID-19 have the
opportunity to do so.
Although this is a big step in helping to protect all of our K-12 school employees from COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and officials from the State of Ohio, Ohio
Department of Health, and the Lake County Board of Health maintain that those who are vaccinated can still be carriers and spreaders. Wearing masks, social distancing, and
washing/sanitizing hands will remain important for the foreseeable future.
