Ken Babb
Kenneth R. Babb was the superintendent in Fairport from 1976-1984. During that time the Diamond Shamrock Wws closed and tax levies were passed totaling 47.8 mills, which at that time that was the largest ever passed in the State of Ohio for a school. Ken taught math from 1958-1984 at Harding High School and coached both football and basketball. He was on the Athletic board from 1959 to 1968 and he was the Athletic Director from 1968 to 1975. He worked successfully on getting the East Street property for the boy’s baseball and girl’s softball fields. As a member of the Men’s Civic Club, Ken was named Man of the Year.
