    Virtual Public Participation Request Form

The Fairport Harbor Exempted Village Board of Education values its engagement with the community and believes that providing an opportunity for public comment during Regular Board Meetings supports that engagement and provides transparency. Though proving an opportunity for public comment is not a requirement, we would like to continue this practice even while meeting virtually. In the spirit of maintaining this opportunity for our public to participate in these virtual school board meetings, interested persons may submit written public comments via this electronic form. The Board will collect the public participation information up to one hour before the Regular Meetings for inclusion in the meeting.

  • Nutrition Services (Updated 4/6/20)

    Nutrition Services (Updated 4/6/20)

We realize that many of our students rely on breakfast and lunch that they receive each day at school. We have updated our nutrition plan for the remainder of the mandatory school closure that ensures that students who need these meals will be able to get them.

We are following guidance from the health department to limit exposure and maintain social distancing. Staff will pass out meals at the Harding Jr/High School, Vine Street entrance near the Fairport Library. A Riverside/Fairport staff member will come to your car to get your student's names and then bring the meals to you. Students do not need to be present, and we would prefer only one person per family to come to pick the meals up. The meal pick-up plan is to protect both staff and families.
The school district will provide meal pick-ups on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the duration of the state-mandated school closure.

Important: Children from birth to age 18 may receive meals offered regardless of enrollment. Please do not exit your car; a staff member will come to your vehicle to pass out the meals. Thank you!

    #9 COVID-19 McKinley Playground Closed

    Dear Fairport Families:

With the entire state of Ohio, under a stay-at-home order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine ordered public playgrounds to close to limit the spread of coronavirus. We have made the decision to close the playground at McKinley Elementary until further notice to reinforce social distancing and prevent further spread of the virus.

We encourage our students and families to engage in other outdoor activities, run, bike, hike while still adhering to the social distancing recommendations.

Thank you for your support and cooperation as we continue to adjust to the ever-evolving health situation in our communities.

    Sincerely,
    FHEVS Administration

    #6 Covid 19 Response 3/20/20 Instruction & Technology

    March 20, 2020
Dear Fairport Harbor Parents and Guardians,
The Fairport Harbor Schools recognizes how incredibly difficult the current situation is for our families. Our teachers have been working diligently to assign meaningful instructional content for students to complete away from school. Teachers are making remote learning opportunities available and can track progress as well as provide feedback that will permit students to advance to the next grade level as long as they engage with their teachers and the provided content.
To involve all of our students, we need to know how we can better assist our families. Please notify your building administrator for McKinley, dfischer@fhevs.org, or Harding krumbarger@fhevs.org, if your child tells you they are unable to access the online learning opportunities. Our teachers and technology department will work with you to make sure your child has the access they need. Many companies are now providing free internet. Please let us know if you do not have the technology for your child to utilize.
Regardless of the duration of this closure, our education community is determined to do everything in our power to help every student move on to the next grade in the fall and make sure every senior graduate on time! The Fairport School District expects that ALL students will continue their education online. To promote students to the next grade level, students must complete their assigned work, and we will support you through this. Beginning March 30th, the district will be closely monitoring student contributions to their online learning. Please note that the district will observe Spring Break the week of March 22 through March 28, with classes resuming on March 30, 2020.
    Thank you,
Mrs. Doreen Fischer and Mrs. Katie Rumbarger Principal Principal

    # 5 COVID-19 Response- 3/18/20 McKinley Parent

Dear Skipper Families, I need to make you aware that on March 18, 2020, a parent called the school to self-report that they have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus. We are sharing this information with you because the parent attended March 12, 2020, parent-teacher conferences at McKinley Elementary. They did not have any interaction with students. We have contacted the Lake County Health Department for further guidance and we will keep you apprised of any further developments. Until then, please adhere to all prescribed safety procedures such as social distancing, hand-washing, and all other CDC guidelines. If you have additional concerns, the Ohio Department of Health has opened a call center to answer questions about COVID-19. The call center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can be reached at 1-833-427-5634. I am proud of the way everyone in our district has risen to the occasion and am more confident than ever in our ability to overcome this challenge. Stay well Skippers!
