College Credit Plus for 23/24
College Credit Plus allows Ohio students to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. The CCP program allows eligible students in grades 7-12 to enroll in a state-assisted college, university, or any non-profit institution for the purpose of enhancing students’ career readiness and postsecondary success.
Each year Fairport Harding High School hosts an informational meeting about the College Credit Plus program. This year the meeting will be held via zoom on March 16, 2023, at 6:00 along with advisors from Lakeland Community College and Lake Erie College. This meeting is strongly recommended for students who intend to participate in CCP during the 2023-24 academic year.
NOTE ALL PAPERWORK TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 23/24 SCHOOL YEAR IS DUE BY APRIL 1, 2023

Youth Basketball
Calling all Fairport Youth, Grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade to sign up for Fairport Youth Saturday Elementary basketball program on a first come - first serve basis. This instructional league will take place on Saturday mornings at FHS in the Main HS gym. This league will be FREE for all Fairport McKinley and Harding students! There will not be a charge for admission. Parents/ Guardians must accompany and stay with children if younger than 4th grade. Students in grades 4 through 6 can be dropped off and picked up at the conclusion of the league, but parents are always invited to stay. Half of each session will consist of drills, and learning basic basketball concepts and the other half will consist of practice games.

Harding Band Concert 4/19/23
Mr. Ruzin will host the Harding MS/HS Band Concert on April 19, 2023. Sixth and Seventh grade will kick off the concert at 7:00 pm and High School will follow.
Harding Band Concert will be hosted in The Branthoover Auditorium located at 329 Vine Street in Fairport Harbor. -

VFW Contest 2/2/23
Congratulations to the following students for their winning essays they submitted to the Fairport Harbor VFW Post #7754 for the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest and Voice of Democracy Speech Contest.

Stay tuned for next year's essay contest information in the fall of 2023 from the VFW. This is an annual contest and all Fairport students are invited to participate.
A huge thank you to the Fairport Harbor VFW Post #7754 for having this contest each year and for their support of the Fairport Harbor Schools. The prize money given today takes the total prize money to over $6,500 won by Fairport Harbor Students! Thank you! -

Fairport Students participate in LEAF's Singing in The Rain 2022/2023
Harding Art Teacher, Rose Caruso, has partnered with LEAF this year for the Singing in the Rain-Umbrella Project .
LEAF is the first organization in Ohio to adopt The Umbrella Project, it is a non-profit, global children's art initiative. Its mission is to teach students that they can make a difference in their world through art and engineering by using a recent, relevant and impactful theme that influences others and inspires creativity. Art students paint on white umbrellas with non-toxic waterproof fabric pigment markers, shading their artistic images with the community. Engineering students draft and create umbrella display prototypes that safely enhance the umbrella design. Together, the artistic creation impacts community engagement. Students gain self-esteem by knowing that the money raised with their one-of-a-kind artistic creations will fund a non-profit helping local students and families in their post-secondary journey.
*This project also gives students a chance to win a scholarship towards college up to $1,000.
