We had our first super-fun Summer Reading Adventure on June 3, 2026, and it was a wonderful success! Thank you to all the families who joined us for a morning of learning, exploring, and fun.
We kicked off the event with Chief Lloyd reading a silly firefighter story, then explored some of our community's amazing service and construction vehicles, including a fire truck, ambulance, police cruiser, skid steer, and a large forklift. We wrapped up our adventure with a writing activity focused on why superheroes help others.
Chief Lloyd also shared important bike safety tips and generously provided bike helmets for our young readers. To finish the day, everyone created bracelets featuring positive superhero traits: smart, kind, strong, alert, and brave.
A HUGE thank you to the Fairport Harbor Police Department, Fairport Harbor Fire Department, Fairport Harbor Public Library, and CT Taylor Construction for volunteering your time and helping make this event so special for our children.
