Dr. Karl Schneider

as New Superintendent

The Fairport Harbor Exempted Village School Board of Education is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Karl Schneider as the new Superintendent of schools, effective August 1, 2026.

Dr. Schneider brings 26 years of educational experience as a teacher, coach, and educational leader to the position as Superintendent, 12 of which serving as an administrator with the Parma City Schools and most recently as Executive Director of Operations at Bedford City Schools.

Following a thorough search process guided by the ESC of the Western Reserve, that included community and staff surveys, the Board selected Dr. Schneider for his strong commitment to academic excellence, student success, community engagement, and fiscal responsibility.

At the Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 28th, the Board held second round interviews for three candidates from an initial pool of 16 who had applied for the Superintendent position.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Schneider to Fairport Harbor,” said Justin Levine, Board President. “Throughout the search process, it was clear that Karl brings not only extensive experience, but a strong ability to lead, communicate, and build trust across a school community. We are confident he is the right leader to move our district forward.”

In his previous roles, Dr. Schneider has been recognized for implementing a comprehensive strategic plan that led to gains in student achievement and community engagement. He has vast experience in developing facility maintenance so as to minimize negative impacts to the fiscal budget, and Dr. Schneider is credited with developing a youth sports program.

"I am honored to lead the Fairport Harbor School District and look forward to collaborating with teachers, staff, families, and community members to ensure every student thrives," said Dr. Schneider.

Dr. Schneider holds a Doctorate of Education from Concordia University, a Masters of Educational Administration from Ashland University, and a Bachelor's of Arts from Baldwin Wallace University.
