Maltz Museum 1/31/25
9th grade students toured the Maltz Museum on Friday, January 31st to learn more about the Holocaust. Students participated in a one hour guided tour of the exhibit: "Degenerate- Hitler's war on Modern Art." Students learned more about how Hitler attacked and mistreated the Jewish people through the arts and culture first. They also were able to meet Mrs. Hedy who told us about her parents who were Holocaust survivors - her mom, who was a twin, was sent to Auschwitz at 23 years old and her father worked as a laborer in the concentration camp of Buchenwald. The students were witnesses to history today and all parents should be extremely proud of their behavior during the field trip. This group represented Fairport well. Thank you to all the chaperones who attended: Mrs. Kuhn, Mrs. Caruso, Mr. Throckmorton and Mrs. Knight.
