Football Field Letter 10/24/25

October 24th, 2025

Dear Fairport Harbor Families,

Congratulations to the Skipper varsity football team on their impressive victory this evening, improving to a perfect 10 - 0 record during the regular season. Such an accomplishment requires talent, perseverance, skill, hard work, determination, and teamwork. Our congratulations extend to Coach Nagle and his entire staff.  We also want to thank the community network that consistently supports our football team every week. We appreciate our cheerleaders, marching band, junior class stand, parents, and families for their dedication to our Skipper community. Our best wishes for continued success in the upcoming post-season of interscholastic competition

Playoff Action for Football to be Held Offsite

As our football team turns its attention to the playoff season and beyond, we have several important updates to share with our community. First, while our hardworking and successful Skippers football program has earned the right to host their first playoff game, we are unable to meet the various Ohio High School Athletic Association requirements for attendance and parking; consequently, we will play the contest on Friday, November 7th, at The Riverside Local Schools Stadium in Painesville Township.

2026 Football Season Will Consist of Exclusively Away Contests

Beginning on Monday, October 27th, FHEVS will commence with the next phase of the original campus transition plan and begin taking steps to transform the current football field into a parking lot to accommodate both McKinley Elementary and Harding Middle/High School students and staff as they come together in the new campus. This change will allow both schools to move into the new building after Christmas break. This next phase of the transition plan, combined with our district's intention to completely renovate R.A. Greig Field, prompts FHEVS to share that the entire 2026 football season will consist of away contests.  While this news may be disappointing, we ask you to consider the future benefit from this temporary inconvenience. When completed, the renovated football stadium will include a turf competition field, new and separate stands for home and visiting fans, new locker rooms and restrooms, and a new concession area. While our football stadium will close next season to accommodate the transition to our new building and a full renovation, the improvements will provide lasting benefits for years of future seasons.

We are excited to take this next step toward uniting our students in one modern, safe, and collaborative learning environment. We hope our plans for a fully renovated, state-of-the-art stadium designed to complement our modern learning facility will generate tremendous excitement and enthusiasm.

We appreciate your continued support and patience as we finalize preparations. Additional details, including updated traffic flow and parking information, will be shared closer to the move-in date.

Go Skippers!
