Open Enrollment Overview  

2025-26 NEW OPEN ENROLLMENT APPLICATION  IS NOW OPEN.  

2025-2026 New Open Enrollment Application Window is January 15, 2025 to February 20, 2025

Application Submission Deadline: February 20, 2025 

Applications received by February 20, 2025, will be reviewed by February 20, 2025. Our admissions team will now begin the thorough review of all received applications. Notifications regarding enrollment decisions will be sent out by March 1, 2025.  Decisions for kindergarten open enrollment will be before the end of July 2025. Submitting an open enrollment application does NOT guarantee approval. This application is for  NEW OPEN ENROLLMENT ONLY.

To complete your application, please provide the following documentation:

For NEW applicants:

• Grade Card/Report Card: A current grade card or report card is required.
• High School Applicants (Grades 9-12): Please include a recent transcript.

For applicants receiving special education services:

• A current Evaluation Team Report (ETR) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) must be submitted.
• If applicable, a current 504 Evaluation and 504 Plan are also required.

Documents can be submitted in one of the following ways:

• Email copies to cclair@fhevs.org.
• Drop-off copies at the Board Office:
  329 Vine Street, Fairport Harbor, OH - (440) 354-5400, Ext. 102 

Only applications submitted with all required documentation, including report cards or transcripts and special education documents (if applicable), will be reviewed for open enrollment consideration.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Open Enrollment Overview
Fairport Harbor Exempted Village Schools accepts transfers from other school districts through open enrollment. Students from school districts throughout Ohio (not just surrounding school districts) may apply for open enrollment into Fairport Harbor Exempted Village Schools. All open enrollment guidelines must be met before approval is granted. Students will be notified in writing in June if their application has been approved or denied.

• General Open Enrollment Guidelines and Information:

  • Submitting an open enrollment application does NOT guarantee approval.
  • Open enrollment is based on space availability in a particular grade or school as well as program requirements.
  • Students expelled or transferred for disciplinary reasons by the student services office will be denied open enrollment.
  • Students who move out of the district during the year, but wish to remain in the district, must apply for open enrollment.
  • Transportation is not provided for students who open enroll.
  • Students with IEP’s need to submit a copy of the IEP.
  • Open enrolling in another school may affect a student’s athletic eligibility.
  • Once you have been accepted, we make every effort to continue your educational pathway here at FHEVS.
