Attached are all of the local scholarship applications. Please read through each one carefully and pay attention to deadlines and where/who they get turned in to. Do not wait until the last minute to start this. You want to take your time and be sure that everything is neat and complete. You are very fortunate to have these local groups right here in Fairport. There is a lot of money that they want to give to YOU! Please take advantage of these opportunities.

The Andy Nowacki Foundation Scholarship due 12/31/2024

The Andy Nowacki Foundation Scholarship

Scholarships (awarded quarterly) to those seeking to serve their communities as peace officers, firefighters, EMTs, or nurses. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on a combination of community involvement, dedication to service, grade point average and strong moral character.

Qualifications:

All applicants must complete the application on the Andy Nowacki Foundation Inc. website ( https://nowackischolarship.org/scholarships/) to be considered; no other applications will be accepted or reviewed.

Scholarships are awarded to cover the tuition for police, fire and EMS/Paramedic training or nursing programs up to $5,000
Applicants must be pursuing careers as (1) first responders (Police, Firefighter, Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician) or (2) nursing

Applicants must be attending Northeast Ohio (NEO) institutions geographically located in Lake, Cuyahoga, Lorain, Geauga, Ashtabula, Northern Summit and Northern Portage counties. Sample institutions for nursing programs include Lakeland Community College (LCC), Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), Ursuline, John Carroll, Akron (ASU) and Kent State University (KSU). Sample institutions for Police, Fire and EMT/Paramedic include LCC, Tri-C, ASU/Sherriff, KSU, other NEO municipal police/fire academies, University Hospital EMS Education at Parma Medical Center, Auburn Career Center

Applicants should intend to serve in Northeast Ohio post completion of their instruction for a number of years serving the community as Andy Nowacki did, continuing his legacy in the area

Applicants must interview in person on the Saturday morning scheduled for the cycle they applied in

Dear High School Counselor or Principal:

Each year, the Northeast Region of the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) offers the $1,000 Lester C. Marrison Teacher Education Book Grant to at least one high school senior. I hope that you can share this scholarship opportunity with seniors at your school.

The application is available at https://osba.link/MarrisonGrantApplication. The deadline for applications is Jan. 15.

To qualify for the scholarship, an applicant must:

Be a graduating senior currently enrolled in a school district whose board is a member of OSBA in the Northeast Region:

Counties in the Northeast Region include: Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, and Wayne.

Be admitted to an accredited college or university in Ohio.

Plan to pursue a career in education or working with children.

Demonstrate community involvement and potential as an educational leader and competent professional, and present evidence of good character.

Two letters of recommendation and a one-page essay are also required. Demonstrated financial need is not a requirement but is included among the award considerations.

Hello to All. This is just a reminder that the essays for the Mary Virginia Merrick Scholarship, awarded by the Christ Child Society of the Western Reserve, are due to the respective senior counselors by Friday February 28,2025. Winners are to be selected by a team at each school and that information be entered into the rubric by March 14th.

Hopefully, all of you have this information/criteria that was sent to you in the fall by Brittany Garrett and all of your senior students are aware of this scholarship opportunity.

This is the 3^rd year that the Christ Child Society will be presenting this scholarship to 13 graduating seniors, one from each high school. Once again, the amount will be for $1,000.00 each. Our members look forward to attending your senior awards ceremonies and presenting this award to the students

Students qualify if they live in Lake, Geauga,or Ashtabula County - there is no GPA requirement.

Cost for tuition: $7,000 per semester or $14,000 for the year · This covers tuition and general fees -plus a commuter meal plan - 25 meals per semester

· · Does NOT include room and board - if students want to live on campus, they will pay for that in addition to the $14,000 per year

· Not stackable with other institutional aid (merit, athletic, legacy)

· If students qualify for Pell, OCOG, or Choose Ohio First they can use those funds to pay the $14,000

Medical Mutual Scholarship Due by: 3/15/25 5pm

The application process for the 2025 Medical Mutual Scholarship Fund for Customer Schools is now open. Administered by the Columbus Foundation, the Fund will award scholarships valued at $1,000 each to eligible senior students to go toward their college tuition. Additionally, six top applicants across the state will receive a $10,000 award for their outstanding academic and community service efforts. To be considered eligible, students must attend a high school that belongs to one of our customer school districts and be graduating in spring 2024.

The attached letter includes information about the application process and necessary application materials.

The deadline for applications is March 15, 2025, at 5 p.m.

Fields of Learning Scholarship due by 3/31/25

Fields of Learning is pleased to announce our Scholarship Program for 2025. We are once again holding our essay contest for high school students. Essays are to be based on "Something I Learned Related to High School Football".

This year we are awarding 5 $1000 scholarships for the winning essays. Everything you need to know about the competition is in the attached file. All high school students are eligible, essays must be 700-1500 words, and the deadline for submission is March 31, 2025.

Annually, College Now Greater Cleveland partners with the Cleveland Browns to provide two (2) four-year renewable scholarships of $2,500 per year. We need your help promoting this scholarship to eligible seniors graduating in 2025. The application deadline is March 31st, 2025 at 7:00 PM EST. Please see eligibility requirements below.

The Cleveland Browns Marion Motley Scholarship is available to students who:

Earned a 2.5 cumulative grade point average
Scored a minimum of 18 on the ACT or a 960 on the combined math and verbal portions of the SAT.
Are currently enrolled in a high school located in Northeast Ohio
Will graduate from high school at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year
Plan to enroll in college in 2025-2026
Plan to major in areas that would lead to a career working in education or for a professional sports organization, such as: business, accounting, finance, human resources, information technology, communications, journalism, public relations, sports management, marketing/advertising, kinesiology or exercise science, event management.

The JFSA (Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland) offers scholarships and grants to Cleveland area students who are degree-seeking and attending four-year accredited college programs in the classroom.

Applications are now open, and students can apply until April 1^st. Please have your students visit our website to see if they qualify and to learn how they can apply:

To be eligible students must identify as Jewish and have a total household income of approximately $225,000 or less. Additional eligibility requirements can be found on our website. Please share our program information with your students where other scholarship opportunities are listed for high school seniors. Please also share this information where parents would be able to see it.

Attached you will find information about our program as well as a flyer for the Ruth Weltmann Begun Memorial STEM Scholarship. This scholarship is for academically superior Jewish female students pursuing a degree in STEM and awards are $12,500 per year.

Please note that we offer scholarships for middle-income households with awards up to $5,000. Applications for this population are processed on a competitive first-come, first-serve basis for students with a 3.0 GPA and higher.

And lastly, we offer a generous scholarship to students working as camp counselors at Jewish overnight camps. Additional information about this scholarship can be found in the attached flyer as well as our website.
