    Hello Fairport Harbor Skippers!

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Melissa Heidemann and I have joined Fairport Harbor Schools, as the district Student Success Coordinator. I am beyond excited and honored to be part of this school district and wonderful community.  I am an independently licensed social worker with over ten years of experience in the mental health field. My career has taken me many places and given me amazing opportunities to work with people of all ages and numerous backgrounds. The majority of my experience and where I have found my greatest joy and work to be done has been working with children, adolescents, families and school staff within the school setting.

As the district Social Worker my primary responsibility is to promote social, emotional, and mental wellness for all students, staff, and families within our district.  I have the privilege and opportunity to get to know and work with all students within the district. My role and responsibilities will range from large classroom group lessons, small group counseling sessions, individual therapeutic counseling sessions, assessments, crisis management, training and education for staff members, parent education seminars, connection to resources and collaboration with community organizations. This role allows me to connect home, school, and the community.  My ultimate goal is to ensure that every student, staff member and family within this district reach their fullest potential, know me and my office to be a safe haven, a place for help no matter the problem or situation and most importantly a place they ALWAYS feel welcome and confident that there is help for any and all situations!

I have an unwavering passion, drive, and commitment to our youth in this community and to teach them to not only realize their value but to value themselves, to inspire youth to have and achieve their  goals, to guide them in identifying their gifts and strengths, and teach them that every problem, set back, or barrier, always has a solution.

I am very happy to be here and cannot wait to get to know you and your children. Please feel free to contact me anytime via email at or phone at (440) 354-5400 ext 382.

    Kindest Regards,

    Melissa Heidemann, LISW-S
