Profile of a Graduate

  • Posted 2017-2018 School Year

Nearly 10 years ago the Fairport Harbor Exempted Village School District began creating a vision for the graduating class of 2020, and following classes, that included college and career credentials for every graduate. As you know, our district has made tremendous gains while enhancing the vision to include the pursuit of International Baccalaureate and Personalized Learning. We would like to take an opportunity at this time to underscore our commitment to those initiatives. We are seeking to engage in a new Visioning Process that aligns the Vision, Mission, programs, and initiatives that are powerful change agents for FHEVS. Building these connections, in conjunction with stakeholders, will ensure that our powerful Vision succeeds well into the future. We would like to invite you to be a member of the Visioning team.

The goal of the Visioning Team is to revise the district Vision and Mission, develop a Profile of a Graduate and identify those qualities that our community and stakeholders want to see in a graduate of FHEVS. Our District Leadership Team is conducting this initiative under the guidance of our Superintendent Dr. Domenic Paolo and the organization EdLeader21. The DLT (District Leadership Team) has identified several stakeholder groups who will work to align the goals of the district. Throughout this process, our progress will be shared on the school website and at the school board meetings. Your input and insight will be tremendously valuable for our district and will provide a voice to your representative group. We want to actively engage in a dialogue with our stakeholders about what student outcomes are essential in the 21st century. We believe that you have experiences in your workplace and in civic engagement that can help us consider what competencies our young people must possess beyond the standard conception of academic achievement.

These perspectives will be most helpful as we work on our strategic plan for our school/district.
We are asking that our attendees commit to a series of 4 meetings (one per month) with the last meeting being a thank you reception and Gallery walk on June 12 from 6-8 pm at the Fairport Senior Center. We hope you will be able to join us for what we are certain will be a lively and engaging conversation.
